WEEK OF JUNE 28- JULY 5, 2020

I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Our feet are standing in your gates, Jerusalem. Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together. That is where the tribes go up— the tribes of the Lord—to praise the name of the Lord According to the statute given to Israel. There stand the thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure”. - Psalm 122:1-6

- THURSDAY, July 02: church service, 7:00-9:00 PM. All members may participate

- FRIDAY, July 03: NO service for youth

- SUNDAY, July 05: We will have three services, each one and a half hours in length:

          - 9:00-10:30 AM – for persons above the age

of 65 years old. If you belong to this category

and need transportation, please call the church

secretary, brother David Laza (773) 663-9488

          - 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – for church members whose

last names begin with the letters A – L.

          - 5:00 – 6:30 PM – for church members whose last

names begin with the letters M – Z.

Guests are welcome to worship with us at all the services. All the services will be transmitted online on the church website and on the Facebook page.

The Holy Communion will take place on Sunday, July 12, at each of the 3 services. If you cannot participate at the Communion in person, you can pick up the elements on Saturday, July 11, between 10-12 or 4-6pm (door #8).

We respectfully ask the following categories of people to please follow the church services online from home:

- Children under 10 years of age (the parents with young children may each choose to attend, alternatively, one of the services, so that the other parents may stay home to care for the children).

- Those who work in fields with high exposure or who knowingly have come in contact with persons who are sick.

- Those with underlying illnesses, such as cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, diabetes, or other conditions that are considered vulnerable

- Anyone who is coughing, has fever or any other symptoms that indicates a cold or the presence of an illness

Those who are above the age of 65 may choose to participate in the following church services:

- Services organized specifically for them

- Thursday evening services, when the number of participants is fewer

Brothers and sisters who will choose to physically participate in the services will assume responsibility for following regulations:

1. Entering and exiting the building will be allowed utilizing only marked doors so that people may move in a single direction, respecting a 6 ft minimum distance and thus avoiding cross-contamination. The entrance to the building will ONLY be through the main entrance of the church.

2. Wearing of masks is mandatory where a minimum distance of 6 feet cannot be maintained. In addition, wearing of masks is also mandatory when entering and exiting the church building and the sanctuary. We recommend that each person bring their own mask from home. However, ushers will provide one for those who do not have one.

3. Each person’s temperature will be checked upon entering the building. Each person will also need to sanitize their hands with the disinfectant provided by the ushers. Temperature checks and hand sanitization are MANDATORY.

4. The benches will be occupied beginning with the front rows and will be dismissed beginning with the back rows. Seating will only be allowed in marked areas – you will be guided accordingly.  At the end of the service, exiting the building will be announced and coordinated from the pulpit. If members chose to come with their families (including children over the age of 10), they may sit together without maintaining distance. Ushers will guide them to special areas for families.

5. A minimum distance of 6 feet is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED in the parking lot and in the church building. In addition, any form of greeting that involves physical contact must also be avoided.

6. In order to eliminate the risk of infection, the drinking water fountains from the hallways will not be in use and the gathering up of the offering will only be done at the exit where there will be collection boxes for gifts offered to the Lord.

7. The children’s department will have no activity at church for the time being – click on the links below for details about the 2 activities for children and youth:

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. Lord, save us! Lord, grand us success! blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you.”

Psalm 118:24-26
